Sivý vrch

Sivý vrch (literally “Grey Peak”) is part of the Western Tatras and is accessible from the Huty area, from Zuberec and Bobrovec. The hike to the summit is one of the more challenging but it is definitely one of the most beautiful. The views of Liptov and Orava are worth it.
From the Huty area, from the Forester’s Lodge below White Rock (Horáreň pod Bielou skalou), there is an attractive route beneath White Rock (Biela Skala) and through Radové skaly (literally “Rad’s Rocks”) with many rock towers and various rock formations resembling human figures. Some parts are secured with chains.

ROUTE: Horáreň pod Bielou skalou – Biela skala - Radové skaly – Sivý vrch (1 805 m n. m.) – Radové skaly – Biela skala – Horáreň pod Bielou skalou

If you choose the ascent from the Liptov side, the route starts at the beginning of Bobrovec Valley (Bobrovecká dolina) in the locality of Bobrovecká Vápenica and continues through the juncture below Babky, Predúvratie Saddle and Ostrá all the way to Sivý vrch. This route leading along the blue and green hiking trail will take you about 5 hours with an elevation gain of 1,149 m.

ROUTE: Bobrovecká Vápenica – Rázcestie nad kameňolomom – Rázcestie pod Babkami - Chatu pod Náružím – Sedlo Predúvratie (1 585 m n. m.) – Ostrá (1 763 m n. m.) – Sivý vrch (1 805 m n. m.)

Seasonal closure

Winter closure from November to the end of May.

Parking

There is a parking area next to the road at the Forester’s Lodge below White Rock (Horáreň pod Bielou skalou). There is also a parking lot at the Bobrovecká Vápenica signpost.
